Learn How You Can Lower Your Bills
Lower Your Bills and Save Money
Do you need to lower your bills and just not sure how to go about it? These tips will give you
some great ideas to help you lower your bills and save money.
Tips to lower your electric bill:
- Turn off the lights before you leave a room. This tip in particular requires minimum effort to
flick a switch before you head out the door, and can end up saving you dollars on your electric
bill.
- Winterize your home by putting plastic over the windows and keeping the cold air outside to
prevent your heater from working overtime. Also, make sure you do not have cracks around your
windows and doors that let warm air out and cool air in. Vice versa for summertime. It probably
would not hurt to check the insulation in your attic and under your home. A few bucks spent on
new insulation will pay for itself tremendously in the end.
- Hang your clothes out to dry on pretty days. If where you live will permit you to have a clothes
line, hanging your clothes out to dry is a great tip for lowering your bills, as well as having fresh
smelling laundry.
- Open your windows on weather permitting days and let the fresh air in instead of turning on the
air conditioner. With this tip you can air out your house and lower your bills all in one.
- Raise your blinds during the day to let the daylight in instead of using a light. As long as your not
straining your eyes, this tip is a great one for just watching tv or lounging around the house, and
helps you lower your bill at the same time.
Tips to lower your water bill:
- Don't run the water while you brush your teeth. This is probably the most common tip for
lowering your water bill. However, it works.
- Catch the cold water to give to your plants while for it to become hot. Don't waste the water
running down the drain. Give it to your plants and lower your bill while feeding your plant.
Tips to lower your grocery bill:
- Do not go grocery shopping on an empty stomach. This tip will keep you from impulse buying
just because it looks good. Everything looks good when you are hungry, so be sure you have a
snack before you leave the house.
- Using coupons will help lower your bill a lot. If you use coupons for things that you are planning
on buying anyway, you will see a big difference in your grocery bill. Check your local Sunday
paper for coupons you can clip for your next grocery shopping trip.
- Making a list before you go grocery shopping and sticking to it will help you lower your grocery
bill as well. Check your cabinets and make your list accordingly so that you know just what it is
that you are going to buy. Sticking to your list will lower your bill.
- Shop the sales when grocery shopping. Shopping for things that are on sale that you normally use
can save you a lot of money on your grocery bill. Read the weekly ads and make notes of what is
on sale where to be sure you do not forget. Take your sales paper with you to the grocery store
and shop accordingly. When you get to the checkout, you will see that you lowered your bill.
